Aqua Jogging
Jess has her swimming lessons after school on a Wednesday. We normally use the time to have a swim ourselves. Mr sporty ploughs up and down challenging himself while I sort of granny swim keeping hair and nose out of the water. We take it in turn each week so one of has a swim and the other watches Jess. My turn to swim this week and after 4 pathetically slow lengths of the pool I was a bit bored. As I got out of the pool I spotted two ladies clipping these weird floaty things round their waits and heading off for the deep pool. I asked the attendant what was going on and she told me it was aqua jogging. Basically you wear this floaty thing round your waist, get into the deep pool and "run up and down". Well I had to give it a go and it was such a laugh. Your feet don't touch the bottom so you are literally running through deep water. Its hard work, mostly for the muscles angle rather than getting out of breath. I kept going for 20 minutes and by the time I got out I was totally exhausted.
It does feel really odd running through deep water, especially as you don't touch the bottom. However I reckon I'm going to give it another go next time we are at the pool. As I type this I can definitely feel that I have had a workout.
